Dan Bross

A judge will decide whether a federal civil rights suit filed against the city of Fairbanks can proceed. Native men, known as the Fairbanks Four allege racial bias driven police misconduct, including coercion of false confessions and fabrication of evidence, lead to their being wrongfully convicted of a 1997 murder. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, the civil suit is the latest development in an unresolved case that continues to haunt the community.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
